Friends of Ewen Park Picnic
The Friends of Ewen Park are holding a Spring Picnic at Ewen Park (Sunday 28th October 2007). Organised by Nadia Wheatley, it is being supported by many children's writers including illustrators Jeannie Baker and Julie Vivas, and authors Ursula Dubosarsky, Catherine Jinks, Libby Gleeson and myself. We are providing signed copies of our works as competition prizes.
Here I am with some helpers getting the prizes ready. You can click on the photos for a larger version.

The Official Press Release
Local children are looking forward to the Spring Community Picnic which the Friends of Ewen Park will be holding in Ewen Park (Tennent Parade, Hurlstone Park) on the afternoon of Sunday 28 October, from 3 pm to sunset.
As well as art and craft activities, there will be a Ewen Park Environment Quiz. All entries will go into the draw to win one of the 25 autographed children's books which have been donated by award-winning authors and illustrators. These quality prizes include books by illustrators Jeannie Baker and Julie Vivas, and authors Ursula Dubosarsky, Pamela Freeman, Catherine Jinks, and Libby Gleeson.
FEP spokesperson and parent John Murn says: "This is a great opportunity for children to learn about their environment and win a book that they will treasure all their lives."
On a recent visit to the park, author Pamela Freeman commented: "The Ewen Park picnic area is a wonderful community space. It is important that it is preserved for future generations of families and children."
